Michael Patrick Murphy, Placer County LP Vice Chair, Candidate for the CA Assembly District 4
10th of November, 2006.

As far as Placer County is concerned, it looks like the Republican Central Committee has shown that it still has what it takes to fool everyone. Their base are lemmings and they know that with a little—I mean with a "lot" of money, they can still put the fear of Democrats into their "base" no matter how much it has melted recently. A war going badly is now the fault of bleeding heart liberals. No thought seems to be given to the fact that the folks they elected ARE bleeding heart liberals. How was the "base" to know? They saw "R's" in front of their candidates' names. To me, the word "base" applies to those lemmings that follow their leaders over a cliff. Statisticians and accountants should know better. Imagine our debt, and if you believe John's Hopkins, Iraqis have more than paid for our 9/11 events, at between 400,000 and 600,000 dead compared to the 3,000 we lost on 9/11. (Our Republican/Democrat government refused to tally civilian deaths, afraid we might all change our minds about the war. What if we thought of ourselves as genocidal murderers? Heaven forbid!) Accountants can see the on-book and off-book U.S. expenditures, but they too blinked and looked the other way. Never mind that it is illegal for private citizens and companies to keep their books in such a manner. So let us become a little more enlightened and then pass the word.

Considering that we have only 1,126 registered Libertarian Voters in Placer County, Dan Warren received 4,153 votes and I received 2,176 Placer County votes in our respective races for Congress and the State Assembly!

These voters stood against the tide, and in my case, only cost a fraction of what it cost Republicans per vote even though this is, or at least used to be, the most Republican County in the state. Of course, we have our own "base" that votes solid "L" because it is safe. Since these Libertarians assume we won't get elected, they don't care about who we are as candidates, because we won't win and therefore can't screw up the government any more than it already is.

173,264 voters are registered. 89,582 are Republicans. Only 44,469 folks from all parties turned out to vote for John T. Doolittle. That's less than half their own registrations! Pretty pathetic in my book, Dan Warren did the better job and probably for a lot less money, too. Fortunately, Doolittle will be a lame duck now that the Dems will override his arrogant and pompous attitude. Republicans spent a lot of money for nothing and I love it!

Only 43,683 folks from all parties turned out for Ted Gaines. That's even less than those that turned out for Doolittle. So I guess I can pat myself on the back because I know my votes cost so much less than Ted's did. I love seeing Republicans waste their money on someone who has not and will not do Republican things. How would Republicans know when they don't know Ted, don't know his record and don't know where his money came from? They will get what they deserve when he adds to the social spending on the State Assembly. Like I say, who needs Democrats while the Republicans elect communists!

Both Dan and myself got more votes than our party's own registrant totals. Neither Republican winner could accomplish that!

In the end, Doolittle and Gaines will be coronated on less than 50% of the electorate and even less when you consider folks that don't vote. In other words, because we don't have instant run off voting, more than half the people really don't want Ted Gaines and Prince John Doolittle in office. Imagine that!

Also imagine that the press closed out the Libertarians and the Greens, as usual. Despite them, we still did better per dollar and per registrant than both the Republicans and Democrats and the Sacramento Bee and Brehm Communications folks know it. We're we in the debates and were the press to do its job for the first time in 60 years, I would guarantee we would win some elections, cut the debt, lessen crime and end our unnecessary involvement in most wars.

So here's what I'm asking readers to do to stop the derailment of our democracy by the Demopublicans and the Media.

  1. Never vote Republican or Democrat as long as you live. Anybody that would register with those parties has no principles worth giving your vote to. Sure, some don't know any better. All of them have excuses. Some even try to use the Bible.
  2. Stop giving your money to the Sacramento Bee, Brehm Communications papers, Auburn Sentinel and any other "slanted rag."
  3. Stop listening to stations that have a Democratic or Republican slant to their talk shows. Don't buy from companies that advertise on those stations and don't get advertising with those stations. Do this for a few months and watch them change their song.
  4. Boycott any business that contributes to Republican or Democratic candidates. Hit them in their sacred wallets!
  5. Promote the hell out of this website and anyone you know that is a Libertarian. Give them your money. Support free enterprise.
  6. Donate to Libertarian candidates. I don't care if you have to skip McDonalds for a day or two, donate, donate, donate. Donate $1, 5, 10 or whatever you can afford. Running as a Libertarian isn't easy, but you can always figure they will get you the best per vote bang for your dollar, at least in Placer County. Libertarians would beat the heck out of the National Debt which is now at 8.75 Trillion!!! Social Security is at almost 2 trillion!! The Iraq War is at another 2 trillion!! (Based on the government's own figures we're already up to 12.75 trillion!!!) The average American family owes $500,000 to the feds that doesn't show up on your credit report. So to donate $5 to each Libertarian Candidate, it would have cost you $60 for the whole election!!! I wouldn't be in the hole for $4,000. Libertarians are only a hair less apathetic than the majority. It only takes a little effort on our part to beat these bad boys. So again, donate, donate, donate! Freedom isn't free!
  7. Get an education. Know who is on your local city councils and who represents you on the Board of Supervisors, then run for office yourself if at all possible. We have 600 folks in office around the nation despite Libertarian apathy.
  8. Come to our next meeting to learn more.

If you do all of the above, it will hurt these dishonorable parties and companies in the pocket book and cause the elections to be more fair and honest. One man, one vote. The media, having trouble anyway, will have to start doing its job or die.
