Michael Patrick Murphy, Placer County LP Vice Chair, Candidate for the CA Assembly District 4
30th of October, 2006.

Molly Ivins once passed on this lesson. If you want to know your candidate, there is three things you can do. The first is to go to their record, the second is to go to their record and the third is to go to their record. I'm sure that she would agree that the second thing should really be to follow their money.

Before I conclude here with the information you should have always looked for, I want to say one thing on behalf of third parties. First, the Republican Party was a third party three times in U.S. history. The Democrats once. Folks have voted for the other two all my life and if you ask them, they will feel they were seldom represented by those they voted for. They never did what they agreed to do. In other words, they wasted their votes. Why not vote to build a third party? If they started 34 years ago, we'd have no more Republicans or Democrats in office today. The result is endless war, insurmountable debt and a prison population that has to be exported because currently, they sleep in the prison cafeterias!

With no more ado, here's a list of candidates and links to their records and their money. If this doesn't convince voters to vote for third party candidates or independents, or me, then I don't know what will. A total collapse of the economy? We'll see this November if voters have enough back bone left to STAND TALL.

Become one of the top 1% of voters that are actually informed.

Step 1: Let your fingers do the walking. You can get all the campaign contribution data (460 statements) from the Internet for most offices accept City Council. For that, you must drive to City Hall and ask the clerk to see the 460 statements. It is important that you make the effort.

Step 2: Go to their records. They are represented by their votes while in office. Go their office's website, not their campaign website. Look up the Agendas and Minutes for their office and see how they voted on the various items. You only have to look at a few per candidate to get the idea as to whether they waste money or not. Some more valuable information can be found at www.answers.com, www.smartvoter.org , www.opensecrets.org, or www.calvoter.org, or you can look up older 460s on www.americanliberty.org under the city or Placer County links. (NOTE: I haven't had a chance to update 460s, but I plan to. Also, Open Secrets website has been either hacked or too bombarded with hits to work 10/30/06.)

Step 3: Once you've decided on your candidates. Tell everyone you can about them. Tell ten people to tell ten people. Point them to www.AmericanLiberty.org so they can get these instructions. Call everyone you know. STAND TALL!

Step 4: Restore the American Dream –Vote!

I can't do all your homework for you. But I'll give you this example.
